Spain in short!

Spain is sangrias, tapas, sun and uv rays aplenty. Spain is also football. And world and European champions at that. Recently crowned European champions, an event we witnessed and celebrated with locals admist fireworks, burning rubber and passion unrivalled. And I won't talk about the blood. More than one could imagine. Too much blood. All in the name of tradition. May those bulls rest in peace. But mostly it's relaxed, slow paced and open minded, and liberal too. It's cheap. It's stylish and the men and woman are beautiful. For us Spain is now firmly and fondly etched into our memories as a must return destination. Viva ESPANA!

Granada is renowned for its free Tapas when you order a drink!!

Jay volunteered to explore the Stadium of Real Madrid!

OH SHIT! Jay went on a shopping trip.  He maintains most of the clothes are for 'work'!!

The lovely streets of Madrid

A patriotic Madridian building - is that even a word!?

All dressed up to celebrate our 3 and half year anniversary!

Wild Salmon tartare - one of the most incredible dishes of our lives!!!

This modern Spanish restaurant was incredible with fresh herbs and greenery throughout!

The famous la Boqueria market in Barcelona - so much outrageously fresh & colourful food!

The fantastic beach in Barcelona

Julia reluctantly let Jay visit Barcelona Stadium alone

Making fresh sangria - yum!

Homemade paella - moi bien!

Little did Julia know that by the end of the bull fight, 6 bulls would be slaughtered in front of her eyes.

El Toro festival poster. People brought along sandwiches and buckets full of sangria to watch the (unappetising) show!

Still smiling....!

A pretty sight but shortly after the scene of slaughter :(

The entire town of Pamplona dresses up during the week-long festival of the bulls.

Anxiously waiting before the start of the running of the bulls!

A nasty nasty blister. Annoyingly spelt the end of my running with the bulls ambitions:(

Away from blood and guts, we were relieved to escape to the magnificent coastal town of San Sebastian

Pintxos - Basque version of tapas that you have to pay for!

So much fun in the sun - a fitting way to say adios to Espana!
